Overview
MakeTime is a Lexington, KY-based manufacturing platform that enables qualified U.S. suppliers to monetize incremental capacity from idle machines by aggregating available hours across machine types. The platform streamlines procurement for manufacturers by analyzing part files to determine machining requirements and matching jobs to available machine capacity. It automates matching using requested quantity and in-hands date to allocate a job to a single supplier or distribute it across multiple suppliers. The company is led by founder and CEO Drura Parrish. MakeTime secured an additional $8m in funding and will use the proceeds to scale its ability to automate how things get made. MakeTime operates an online marketplace that connects buyers and sellers of hourly capacity on computer numerical control (CNC) machines located across America. Users can buy and sell machine time by machine type, required/available hours, hourly rate, material type and date range. The company launched to the public in November 2014 and has added over 400 manufacturers to the platform. Led by CEO and Founder Drura Parrish and COO Jeffrey Markowitz and based in Lexington, KY, MakeTime has raised a total of $3.87m since its inception in 2014. It raised $2.65m in a Series A round and plans to use the funds to increase sales, marketing and product efforts. As part of the round, Daniil Stolyarov of Almaz Capital joined the company's board.
