Malloc debuted Antistalker, an Android app that monitors sensors and apps to detect microphone/camera activation and anomalous data transmissions indicative of spyware. The app’s detection is driven by an on-device machine learning model trained on known stalkerware behaviors to identify new and previously unknown threats. Malloc says the ML runs locally for privacy, while collecting some anonymized data to improve detection over time. The company reports more than 80,000 monthly active users since launching earlier this year. Malloc’s co-founders are Maria Terzi, Artemis Kontou and Liza Charalambous, and the startup plans an enterprise offering to help companies protect employees. The team is also planning an iOS app launch in the near future.
