Maluuba is a deep-learning company that aims to enable machines to think, reason and communicate with human-like intelligence. Its technology powers interactive natural language and conversational dialogue experiences in over 50 million smart devices globally across IoT, mobile phones and smart TVs. The platform supports more than 10 languages and is provided to industry OEMs including LG. The company intends to use the new capital to further enhance its deep learning research and development and to expand its product in the automotive and IoT sectors. Led by co-founder and CEO Sam Pasupalak, Maluuba strengthened its board as part of the financing and appointed Dave Grannan as chairman. The company has now raised C$12m ($8.3m) in total funding to date following the Series A.
