Founded in 2022, Mamedica operates a digital-first healthcare platform that connects UK patients with specialist clinicians for video consultations and subsequent delivery of regulated cannabis-based medicines. The company focuses on treating chronic and neurological conditions such as pain, anxiety, ADHD and depression, and now covers pain, psychiatry, neurology, palliative care and cancer. Since launch, it has treated more than 10,000 patients, with roughly 7,500 currently under active care and about 10% month-on-month growth in new consultations. Patient numbers grew 1,250% in 2023 and 154% in 2024, and management expects to double the patient base annually as the UK medical cannabis market approaches a projected £1 billion in sales by 2028. Mamedica’s proprietary platform automates workflows, ensures compliance and integrates dispensing, with medication delivered by secure next-day courier. The new capital will be directed toward optimising the in-house supply chain, expanding the clinical network, enhancing the digital platform’s automation and compliance features, and funding education to help integrate medical cannabis into mainstream UK healthcare.
