Manchester Imaging

Room E43, Sackville Street Building, Sackville Street, Manchester, Greater Manchester, M1 3BU, United Kingdom

Overview

Manchester Imaging has developed diagnostic software using machine learning and computer vision to automatically detect very early signs of tooth decay. Led by CEO Tony Travers, the company's tools aim to empower patients and reduce costs for insurers and governments by lowering the need for dental restorations and repairs. It is a spin-out of The University of Manchester via UMI3 Ltd and is built on more than a decade of academic collaboration between Professor Hugh Devlin and Dr Jim Graham. The company raised £600k and intends to use the funds for development and the commercial launch of its first suite of software products. Kevin D’Silva, a Venture Partner with Catapult Ventures, will join the board as non-executive Chairman. Backers include the GM&C Life Sciences Fund and NPIF – Mercia Equity Finance.
