Mangas.io operates a legal online reading platform for manga and aims to become the “Spotify of manga” in France. Launched in 2020, the startup has signed agreements with about 30 publishers and offers a catalogue of more than 200 series. That catalogue doubled in size during 2023. The company completed a new fundraising close of nearly €2 million led by Society Of Entertainment. Prior to this round it had raised roughly €1 million through prior rounds, complementary debt financing and an innovation subsidy. The funding is intended to support growth of the catalogue and the platform’s expansion in the French market.
