Overview

MangoBoost is a Washington State–based semiconductor company building advanced data processing units (DPUs) that offload networking, storage, security and other I/O tasks from CPUs and GPUs, greatly improving the efficiency of AI and cloud data centers. Founded by Seoul National University professor Kim Jang-woo, the firm is regarded as having some of the most sophisticated independent DPU technology still on the market. Its chips tackle the performance limitations that even the fastest GPUs encounter when data-movement and storage become bottlenecks, a pain point that is growing as AI workloads surge. The company has attracted strong industry interest, fielding partnership approaches from NVIDIA, AMD, Intel, Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix, and it reportedly declined an acquisition offer from NVIDIA earlier this year to remain independent until mass production begins in earnest. MangoBoost is positioning itself as a strategic technology partner to multiple semiconductor majors rather than a single acquirer. The business is now in its Series B stage and is using new capital to fund commercialization and scale-up of its DPU product line.
