Mantle Energy is a Dallas-based energy company spun out of Hunt Energy’s Hunt Innovative Technologies incubator that uses techniques to create heat in oil and gas formations to support enhanced oil recovery and geothermal power. The company says the approach could unlock as much as 90% of remaining reservoir potential while keeping most carbon in the ground. James Franks, formerly Director of Innovation at Hunt Innovative Technologies, is serving as CEO. With the $5 million seed raise led by 17Shoals, Mantle plans to scale pilot deployments, formalize its pilot plan, secure partnerships, and expand its team. Mantle is preparing for a future Series A as it moves from incubation to standalone operations.
