Manus is a Chinese AI startup that builds tools for AI agents and demonstrated a general AI agent in March. The company's product work focuses on enabling agents to complete various tasks and it has launched paid subscription plans priced between $39 and $199 per month. Manus recently picked up $75 million in a funding round led by Benchmark at an approximately $500 million valuation. Bloomberg reported that the fresh round quintupled the company's valuation from prior levels. The company previously raised somewhere north of $10 million from backers including Tencent and HSG (formerly Sequoia China). Manus plans to use the new capital to expand into new markets including the U.S., Japan, and the Middle East, though TechCrunch noted in testing that the demo did not work as well as advertised.
