Mape is a Bazzano, Bologna, Italy-based manufacturer specializing in crankshafts, balance shafts, camshafts, connecting rods, cylinder liners, barrels and cylinder heads. Its main customers operate in the high-end automotive, motorcycle, recreational and industrial markets. The company reported a turnover of €71m in 2011. Led by president Giuseppe Pederzini, Mape has grown both organically and through acquisition, including a 2010 purchase of a Volvo Trucks production facility in Sweden dedicated to manufacturing rods for industrial vehicles. Mape intends to use new capital to grow in Italy and abroad, expand R&D organically and pursue acquisitions. The company plans to deploy the proceeds from the recent investment toward these expansion efforts.
