466 Geary Street Suite 401, San Francisco, CA, 94102, United States
Overview
Mapsense offers a cloud-based platform and developer tools for ingesting, analyzing, and visualizing large-scale location data in real time. It uses dynamic vector map tiles to render raw map data and can parse billions of rows of location events produced by smartphones and other devices. The platform leverages public datasets including OpenStreetMap, Twitter, the U.S. Census, and urban crime data to create visualizations quickly. Use cases from two years of beta include behavioral analysis and fraud detection on credit card data, responsive real-time location apps, city planning and policing, and targeted mobile advertising. Mapsense provides a free/open-source JavaScript vector mapping library for developers who agree to share data, and offers an enterprise product for proprietary datasets and integrations. The company has 12 employees (10 engineers) and has raised $2.5 million in seed funding. Erez Cohen is CEO.
