Mapsi Photonics develops infrared filters built on macroporous-silicon construction that enable a more controllable and simpler manufacturing process. Their filters deliver higher performance while reducing contamination and environmental emissions. The company originated as a project of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya and was founded in 2021. With the new financing it intends to advance its technology, standardize its manufacturing process, and define new product lines to broaden application areas. Cofounders David Cardador and Daniel Segura have stated the goal of scaling the business from startup to scaleup. Bullnet Capital is presented as not only a capital provider but also a strategic partner to help develop the technology and production processes.
