Overview
Mark II is a hardware and software product that bridges physical books and digital note-taking. Shaped like a highlighter and built from aluminum and ABS, it sits in your book as a bookmark and activates only when you want to capture something — no constant connectivity, no interruption to the reading flow. It supports two main interactions: holding and brushing to highlight text (confirmed with a light indicator), and holding a button to record a voice note. Everything captured syncs to the Mark app, where notes can be organized, searched, and revisited. The app also surfaces past highlights as personalized insights and allows sharing with others. Mark understands handwriting across 100+ languages and works on both paper and screens. For readers who already have notes elsewhere, it integrates with Notion, Obsidian, Readwise, Evernote, and Apple Notes, importing existing libraries into a single catalog. The product is currently available for preorder and has been covered by Gizmodo, Tom's Hardware, and Morning Brew.
