Marriage Pact

Overview
Marriage Pact is a research-based matchmaking company that began as a Stanford economics assignment in 2017. Its core product is an annual survey of about 50 questions that algorithmically pairs college students to maximize compatibility; the sixth edition is due this November. The service is active on more than 60 college campuses and reportedly has 98 percent participation among Stanford students. The firm says the survey and matching will remain free while paid additions to the service are in development. Its matching algorithm was originally based on the deferred-acceptance algorithm but is now proprietary with little public detail. Financially, Marriage Pact closed a $5 million seed round in September and structured the capital as a simple agreement for future equity that does not yet determine a stock price.
