The Martian Lawyers Club (MLC) is building an SDK that uses generative AI to create and run game systems in real time, enabling deeper player personalization by focusing on game mechanics and interactions rather than just assets or narrative. The SDK is designed as a sandbox developers can shape with boundaries and guardrails so generative code snippets produce intended gameplay behavior. MLC plans to ship guardrails and developer controls to prevent the AI from going off the rails and is positioning its product to reduce the need for developers to hand-author thousands of game interactions. To test the technology, the company is building a collectible card game as its first title and has hired its first game designer. With the announced funding, MLC intends to hire a game programmer and a cloud engineer to build out its infrastructure. The company is a spin-off from INSAIT; the INSAIT Foundation holds a small equity stake in MLC.
