MasterImage 3D develops auto-stereoscopic (glasses-free) 3D displays, 3D content-creation tools, a 3D camera ASIC, and digital 3D cinema systems. The company invented, patented and mass-produced the cell-matrix parallax barrier technology used in its mobile displays. Its digital cinema systems are installed in 57 countries following a year of over 300% growth. MasterImage enabled one of the world’s first glasses-free 3D mobile phones and is in development to deliver additional smartphones and tablets in 2011. The company says it will apply recent investment toward innovation across cinema, smartphones, tablets, and larger autostereoscopic displays. MasterImage is privately held, was founded in 2004, and is headquartered in Hollywood, Calif., with offices in the UK, Tokyo and Seoul.
