Mattoboard offers web-based software that lets interior designers and architects mix and match more than 1,000 virtual materials, build 3D mood boards, and manage design projects in a centralized hub. The platform uses 3D twins for materials to simulate how surfaces interact with light, shadow, and reflections, and users can upload images of their own products. Mattoboard aims to consolidate tools designers currently use across Canva, Pinterest, Photoshop and 3D renderers while adding a searchable marketplace to discover and buy materials. The company plans to launch Design Stream, an AI-driven visual search and discovery tool that accepts natural language and visual inputs and will be trained on custom models specific to the design industry. Since launch, around 200,000 designers have used the free platform, and over 2,000 designers pay for the Pro tier at $30/month. Mattoboard intends to use new funding to expand its material database and partner with global suppliers to “bring every material in the world online.”
