mCASH is a Norway-based mobile payment startup that has developed a real-time payments infrastructure connecting banks, merchants and customers. Its mCASH app allows users to link their mobile phone to bank accounts, credit accounts and credit cards and send or receive money to any phone number in Norway. The company holds a license to operate within the EU from Norway’s Financial Supervisory Authorities and plans to launch its payment services in Norway in February 2014. mCASH intends to use newly raised funds to launch and deploy its service in Norway and internationally. It recently secured NOK43m in venture funding from Northzone and Entrée Capital. Entrée Capital’s founding partner Ashley Head will join the company’s Board of Directors. The company employs 17 people and is continuing to hire.
