MDSolarSciences develops primary skin cancer prevention and protection products, centered on a line of clean and safe sunscreens launched after more than two years of research. The company launched its sunscreen products in March and initially is distributing them through physicians' offices and online at www.mdsolarsciences.com. The formulations were developed with a scientific advisory council that includes dermatology, oncology, ophthalmology, pediatrics and internal medicine specialists, as well as behavioral and educational specialists and chemists. The company completed a more than $4 million Series A financing and said the funds will be used for ongoing capital needs. The raise is intended to support commercialization and ongoing operations. The company is based in Norwalk, Connecticut.
