Measure provides drone-as-a-service operations for enterprises, conducting inspections, site audits, aerial footage and other data-collection missions. The company operates a diverse fleet including fixed-wing and multirotor models from Aerialtronics, Aibotix, DJI and Sensefly and uses flight and processing software such as Skyward and DroneDeploy. Founded in 2014 and based in Washington, D.C., Measure employs 20 full-time pilots and in 2016 flew more than 1,100 flights. Its customers have included Verizon and major broadcast networks (ABC, Fox News, CNN), and it has supported work from disaster coverage to construction and energy site audits. Measure intends to use recent funding to hire, expand geographically and develop new capabilities leveraging emerging drones, sensors, cameras and software. It is also working with Cognizant to develop automated change-detection technology for aerial imagery.
