Angels Health Pvt Ltd, which operates MediAngels.com, provides online and video consultations, online medical record keeping, and online ordering of pharmaceuticals connecting patients to specialist doctors across the globe. The platform lists over 300 specialist doctors from 15 countries and has strategic partnerships with more than 21,000 diagnostic centres across India. The company charges Rs 250 per query and Rs 1,500 for video consultations and reports it has treated 8,000 patients, about 1% of whom are outside India. Founded in 2011 by Dr Debraj Shome and Arbinder Singal, the startup previously raised a seed round of Rs 2.4 crore from HDFC Holdings. It has raised $1 million (over Rs 6 crore) from Ventureast Tenet Fund and the Government of India's Technology Development Board. The new funds will be used to expand the sales team to secure more insurers and corporate clients and to add voice-based consultation.
