Overview

Medical Informatics Corp (MIC) offers Sickbay™, a vendor-neutral, FDA-cleared platform that archives, aggregates and transforms high-resolution waveform data from disparate bedside devices and unifies it with electronic medical record and other systems. The platform delivers that consolidated data back into clinical care via a web-based interface to enable real-time monitoring, workflow automation and standardized, data-driven care. MIC positions Sickbay to enable remote patient monitoring at scale and to accelerate development and deployment of patient-centered AI. The company says it scaled rapidly during the pandemic and has seen increased demand as hospitals face staffing shortages and shortages of specialty care. MIC will use the new financing to continue fueling rapid growth and to hire deep product specialists and client engagement teams to support long-term strategic partnerships. The company works alongside hospitals and health systems across the U.S. to standardize monitoring infrastructure and consolidate IT spend. Medical Informatics Corp (MIC) offers Sickbay, an FDA-cleared, vendor-neutral platform that continuously captures and processes high-fidelity waveform data from disparate biomedical devices in near real-time. The platform delivers transformed data and context to care teams beyond the bedside to expedite care, reduce patient risk, and support applications such as TeleICUs, waveform delivery to phones, and automated strip charting. Sickbay includes APIs and developer tools so physicians, researchers, and care teams can build their own algorithms and near real-time analytics on accurate waveform data. MIC emphasizes use in complex critical care environments, including ICUs, where continuous waveform data overcomes limits of discrete EMR data. The company is working with partners such as Texas Children’s Hospital to develop alarm management, emergency dispatch apps, and arrest-prediction algorithms for pediatric cardiac patients. MIC announced a recent $11.9 million Series A to accelerate rollout and support implementations and a pipeline of hundreds of additional hospitals.
