Medway Hospitals is a Chennai-based group that operates eight multi-multispeciality hospitals across Tamil Nadu and Seemandhra, with around 500 beds. Its services include critical care, orthopaedics, neurology, nephrology, neurosurgery, organ transplantation, pulmonology and urology, and it has a dedicated cardiovascular unit. Medway established the Medway Heart Institute in Chennai in 2021, which it says is the only facility of its kind in South India accredited by Joint Commission International and the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers. The group reports the Heart Institute has performed more than 1,000 heart surgeries and 3,000 cath‑lab procedures; its organ transplant programme, started in 2021, has completed over 150 renal transplants. It recently launched an Institute for Pulmonology & Pulmonary Rehabilitation to address increased respiratory illnesses in children and the elderly. Medway emphasizes providing quality healthcare in Tier‑II cities and developing centres of excellence in key cities, and plans to expand to 1,000 beds by 2026.
