Medzy

9320 Saint-Laurent Boulevard, Suite 711, Montreal, Quebec, H2N 1N7, Canada

Overview

Medzy provides a secure virtual pharmacy platform that enables affiliated pharmacists to deliver personalized, efficient and accessible care remotely, automating operations and facilitating reminders, alerts and medication dosing. The platform emphasizes confidential, continuous interactions that make pharmacists proactive participants in therapeutic follow-up. Medzy’s technology is 100% owned by the company and it positions itself as Quebec’s main telepharmacy platform and one of the largest in Canada. The company reports that more than 10,000 people used the service in its first 18 months, showing early market traction. Medzy is female-led with a predominantly female board, including Sophie Boulanger and Marie‑Eve Prevost. Planned product work includes creating an information "gateway" to enable doctors and pharmacists to collaborate on improved therapeutic follow-up. Medzy.ca provides a platform that connects patients with pharmacists and helps affiliated pharmacies simplify medication management to improve therapeutic efficacy and quality of life. Pharmacists use Medzy’s technology to remind patients about refills and provide free, no-contact home delivery with real-time order tracking. Patients receive medication sorted by the date and time to be taken and have 24/7 access to their pharmacist by phone, text, email or chat. The company plans new offerings including same-day delivery and family management via an upcoming mobile app. Medzy intends to expand its technology beyond Montreal to serve Quebecers and to develop its AI-powered platform to analyze datasets such as service dates and prescription changes to increase therapeutic efficacy and predict medication adherence. Founded in 2019 by Francis Valois and Sonia Boutin, the company will support Quebec-wide expansion by moving its affiliated pharmacy to a new 10,000-square-foot warehouse, hiring additional workers and using robotics to help refill, prepare and deliver prescriptions.
