MeetinVR builds a VR meeting platform that uses 360-degree immersion, virtual avatars, shared whiteboards, 3D viewing and other interaction “superpowers” to make meetings more engaging and productive. The product targets small team meetings (8–12 people) and includes features such as mid-air sketching, voice-created sticky notes and a “window to reality” to access your real desktop while in VR. The company has been in development since 2016, ran private tests with about 2,000 organizations (including multiple Fortune 500s), and received over 500 inbound company inquiries in March. MeetinVR launched an open beta with free 30-day trials and supports headsets including Oculus Quest and Rift S; it also partnered with Varjo to ship a dedicated enterprise build and will offer six months free for five users to new Varjo buyers. The team is small (15 employees) and has focused on VR comfort and reducing nausea to enable longer sessions. Financially, MeetinVR recently raised $500,000 from Nordic angel investors and Vækstfonden and is preparing for a new funding round.
