Overview
Memi is a stylish bracelet created by Leslie Pearson that pairs with a smartphone app to selectively alert users to incoming calls, texts and calendar reminders. Users can choose certain people to "let through," and the device provides three distinct vibration patterns to distinguish calls, texts, and reminders. The bracelet pairs via Bluetooth, includes an LED indicator, charges via a micro USB port, and can hold a charge for up to five days depending on use. The product is positioned to help users "unplug" by reducing notification noise while staying connected to important contacts. Memi has received over 500 pre-orders and plans to begin shipments in the summer. On the financing side, the company beat a $100K Kickstarter goal and has raised $700K from friends and family while currently raising a $1M seed round.
