Memolane describes itself as a "digital memory" platform that collects and connects users' thoughts, pictures, messages and music across the internet. The company appears to be building a service to aggregate social media content into a single place and surface relationships between that content. Memolane was created during a Startup Weekend event in Copenhagen the previous April, where it won a 10,000 DKK prize; founder Eric Lagier then quit his job to work on the project full time. Public details about the product and roadmap remain vague, and the team said more information would be released in the coming weeks. Financially, Memolane has raised a $2 million funding round led by August Capital and Atomico. Howard Hartenbaum led the deal for August Capital, reuniting him with Skype founders Niklas Zennström and Janus Friis who are associated with Atomico.
