Memonic
Zürich, Zurich, Switzerland
Overview
Memonic provides a service to select and collect snippets of web pages, documents, pictures and offline content and store them centrally so they can be retrieved independently of the original source. Clipped content can be exported to users' websites or shared via Facebook, Twitter and email, and Memonic is building a WordPress plugin to integrate stored content. The company already offers an iPhone client and is developing a Windows clipper to capture content from any document on a PC. Memonic plans to launch a collaboration feature in the coming months to enable shared retrieval and work with captured information. The site is available in English, German, Spanish and Italian, with Russian, Ukrainian, Chinese and Hindi versions planned; localization is done via crowdsourced volunteers. The six-person team, led by co-founder and CEO Selz, is hiring in Zurich and recently closed funding to support expansion.
