Mendi
Birger Jarlsgatan 57 C, Stockholm, Stockholms Lan, 11356, Sweden
Overview
Mendi is a Swedish health tech startup that builds a consumer neurofeedback device and companion app aimed at improving brain health. The device measures brain activity by tracking oxygen and blood flow in the prefrontal cortex, while the app visualizes activity in near real-time and lets users train their brain by controlling a game. Customers ordered over 10,000 devices within six months; the first batch is manufactured in Sweden, retails at $299, and will be delivered in December. Mendi was founded in Stockholm in 2018 and says it aims to improve the brain health of 10 million people by 2025. The clinical value of neurofeedback is debated, though the company points to anecdotal praise and user testimony, including from CEO Moha Bensofia. The startup is supported by incubator Sting, Vinnova, the EU Horizon 2020 programme, Neurofeedback Scandinavia, Stockholm University and Almi Invest.
