Mendix offers an application platform (aPaaS) designed to speed the development, deployment and management of web and mobile apps. Its platform simplifies development with visual workflows, a drag-and-drop form builder, and an app store of pre-built components, themes, widgets and apps. The company claims its tools enable applications to be developed and deployed up to 10x faster than traditional methods. Mendix says “hundreds” of large enterprises use its platform, citing customers including ABN Amro, Sprint, Dun & Bradstreet, Genzyme, KPN, Liberty Mutual, LV=, Roche and TNT. The business reported its fifth consecutive year of triple-digit growth in 2013, and investors have noted strong revenue growth and high customer success rates. Mendix plans to use new funding for continued global expansion, product development and sales to aggressively ramp up market share. Mendix offers the Mendix Agile Business Platform, a PaaS that enables rapid development, deployment and integration of business applications across cloud, mobile and on-premises environments. The platform is designed to simplify collaboration between Business and IT, enable business engineers and reduce IT dependency. Mendix says its technology cuts development time compared with existing tools and supports deployment to cloud, mobile devices or local customer sites. The company reports profitability and triple-digit year-over-year revenue growth since its 2007 product launch, and serves customers including GE, Genzyme and TNT. Mendix also cites a fast-growing partner network and a user base of over 20,000 users. The company plans to use new funding to accelerate international expansion, global sales, marketing and product innovation.
