Mercu
160 Robinson Road #16-09 Singapore Business Federation Center, Singapore, South West, 068914
Overview
Mercu offers a messaging-first employee engagement platform built to reach deskless workers who lack constant laptop access. Launched in November 2022 and based in Singapore, the product lets employers create custom content or use templates for campaigns like onboarding, surveys and training, and it integrates with WhatsApp and Facebook rather than requiring a new app. The platform segments employees by role, tenure and location, and provides analytics on read and completion rates, industry benchmarks and recommendations. Customers include retail, logistics, hospitality and manufacturing firms such as Guzman y Gomez’s Singapore operations and Sam Prince Hospitality Group in Australia; Mercu also has customers in the United States. The founders, Jascha Zittel and Elliott Gibb, previously worked at Grab and built Mercu after observing higher engagement on messaging apps. Mercu plans to build more employee-facing tools and is exploring use of large language models like ChatGPT to scale communications. The startup raised seed funding to support U.S. expansion and hiring.
