Merge

2 Embarcadero Ctr Fl 8, San Francisco, California, 94111, United States

Overview

Merge offers a unified API designed to simplify and centralize third-party integrations across HR, recruiting, payroll, CRM, project management and ticketing systems. The company reports ARR growth of 30x in the past 12 months and says over 2,500 companies — including TripActions, Ramp, Drata, AngelList, Deed and Apollo — use its service. Merge launched in 2020 and has offices in San Francisco and New York; headcount grew from 15 to about 55 in the last year. It has expanded its supported categories beyond its initial HR and payroll focus and has increased investment in its go-to-market organization to land larger enterprise customers while still targeting SMBs. Merge is rolling out an expanded free tier for small and medium businesses and plans to expand enterprise offerings, including an on-premise version. The company said its valuation increased fourfold with the new round. Merge offers a unified API that enables B2B companies to build and maintain customer-facing integrations across multiple vendors. The product targets HR, payroll, accounting and recruiting use cases and includes features such as single-tenant hosting, CSV uploads, SAML SSO, custom field mapping, and more detailed logging. The platform currently supports about 50 integrations and has grown from roughly 100 companies at seed to around 600 customers, including public companies. Co-founders Shensi Ding and Gil Feig say the company aims to become the de facto standard for B2B integrations and plans to expand into additional categories. Merge positions itself as distinct from workflow automation products, focusing instead on powering user-facing integrations. The team intends to use new funding to expand engineering and sales and broaden category coverage. Merge offers a unified API that currently connects to about 40 HR, payroll, recruiting and accounting platforms, letting B2B companies build a single integration and expose many integrations to their customers. The product is embedded in customers' products and includes an integrations management suite that automatically detects and remediates integration issues; the team also built an internal no‑code tool to build and manage integrations. Co‑founders Shensi Ding and Gil Feig emphasize reliability and security (Merge is SOC 2 compliant) as a selling point for larger customers. Launched in 2020 and coming out of stealth roughly two months ago, Merge already has about 100 organizations on its platform, ranging from seed‑stage companies to publicly listed enterprises. The company monetizes via a free tier (up to 10,000 API requests per month), charges $0.01 per API request for additional usage, and offers customized enterprise plans. Merge plans to expand beyond its current verticals into additional areas soon, with CRM cited as a likely next focus.
