MergeStat

45 East 89th St Apt 37G, New York, 10128, United States

Overview

MergeStat began as an open-source project (originally traced to mid-2020 commits to Gitqlite) and provides a PostgreSQL-backed platform that synchronizes data from SDLC tools so teams can query code and development metadata with SQL. The product includes a management interface and a Postgres database; users can query inside MergeStat or connect BI tools such as Grafana, Tableau, or Superset. Typical use cases include identifying code owners and experts via git history, extracting third-party dependencies or config values, supporting migrations, mapping attack surface for vulnerabilities, and gathering audit/compliance evidence (e.g., for SOC 2). The company officially formed in April 2021 and is led by founder and CEO Patrick DeVivo, with Josue Lopez serving as COO and co-founder. MergeStat remains centered on its open-source offering while building a hosted cloud product and an enterprise self-hosted edition deployable on customer clouds. In advance of a commercial launch it said it is running early tests with several companies, including Equinix Metal, which is using a self-hosted MergeStat instance across 800 repositories; the company also announced a $1.2M pre-seed funding round.
