Overview
Meridian is a Portland startup that builds mobile, location-based apps to help venues and businesses communicate with customers. Its first product for iOS and Android networks locations with companies' own branding into a single user interface. Use cases cited include seat-finding, team information, transportation and concession menus at the Portland Timbers' JELD-WEN Field and artwork-finding and navigation at the Portland Art Museum. Meridian has worked with Cisco and is pursuing development of an "indoor GPS" app for the American Museum of Natural History. The company is led by CEO Kiyo Kubo and Nick Farina, both of whom hold computer science degrees from Cornell University. Northwest angel groups recently invested $1 million into Meridian.
