Merit Health is an offsite construction specialist that uses modular building systems to deliver health and life-sciences facilities. Launched in October 2020 and based in Cramlington, the firm employs a Merit Flexi Pod and Pre‑Assembled Modules (PAM) platform, planning to manufacture 300 modules at its Cramlington factory for installation on site. The company was appointed main contractor for a £66m contract to design, build and fit out the UK’s first CAR‑T cell manufacturing facility in Stevenage for Autolus, in association with Reef Group. To fulfil the contract’s bond requirements Merit secured a £2m investment from the Tees Valley Catalyst Fund managed by FW Capital. The funding has supported job retention across the business, with the article noting it has helped secure nearly 200 jobs and will safeguard 70 local roles.
