Mesa

Austin, Texas, United States

Overview

Mesa is an Austin, TX-based provider of a membership platform built for homeowners. Its product suite includes the Mesa Credit Card, which earns redeemable reward points on monthly mortgage payments and everyday household purchases. It also offers Mesa Mortgage, awarding reward points for new mortgages or refinancing. Led by CEO and founder Kelley Halpin, the company emphasizes giving members real value for every dollar they spend on their home. Mesa raised $24M in a debt and equity financing round and intends to use the funds to accelerate rapid growth and product development. The raise brings Mesa's total capital raised to $33M. Mesa offers mortgage origination and refinancing that include a credit-card-style 1% cash back on the loan plus an unsecured, homeowner-focused rewards credit card issued in partnership with Celtic Bank. The card awards 1 point per dollar for mortgage payments, 2x for gas and groceries, and 3x for home services, and points can be redeemed for cash back, travel, gifts, or to offset mortgage payments. The card carries a typical credit-card APR in the low 20% range and credit limits are determined by applicants' credit histories. Mesa plans to add benefits such as discounts at home-improvement merchants and credits toward big-box memberships and home maintenance. The company says it will monetize via interchange fees, interest revenue, affiliate revenue, and mortgage lead generation. Mesa emerged from stealth on an invite-only waitlist, discloses no user or revenue figures, and currently employs 13 people.
