MetalSoft offers turnkey bare-metal automation software that automates orchestration of switches, servers, storage and networking to make hardware consumable on-demand. The product discovers running hardware, auto-deploys OS and firmware updates, auto-configures storage and generates a visual infrastructure blueprint. MetalSoft targets enterprises with on-prem equipment and cloud service providers offering bare-metal or private-cloud services. The company spun out from Hostway (software in production since 2014) in 2019 and says it landed its first customers last year, including major telco and data center/cloud providers. MetalSoft has about 40 employees and has raised $17 million in venture capital to date; $16 million came from a Series A that closed this week. Proceeds will fund sales, marketing and product development, including planned AI/ML features to intelligently manage and monitor bare-metal hardware slated for introduction in the second half of next year.
