Metamaze is an AI-driven Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) SaaS platform that automates document processing and delivers machine-learning solutions tailored to specific business cases. Founded as a spin-off of Belgian AI expert and incubator Faktion at the end of 2020, the company is based in Antwerpen, Belgium. Its customer roster includes AXA Bank Belgium, Atlas Copco, Borealis, Vandersanden, Tradeflow Capital and Kone Belgium. In December 2021 Metamaze raised a €1.5 million seed round, a combination of capital and loans, with €400,000 invested by Faktion BV and more than €1 million provided by management, shareholders and business angels. The company said it will use the funding to accelerate go-to-market efforts in Belgium and the Netherlands and to test expansion into the Nordics. Management and the board were recently reconfigured, including the appointment of Niels Van Weereld as CEO and Stefanie Caenen as Chief Product Officer, plus new board members Alex Brabers and Jeroen Van Godtsenhoven.
