Metaphore Biotechnologies develops an integrated platform that combines proprietary experimental functional data from living systems with mechanism-aware computational engines to design antibodies with programmed functions. The platform is reported to design high-quality, drug-like molecules in roughly 8 to 16 weeks by learning directly from protein interactions in living systems rather than relying solely on static structural data. Metaphore's pipeline targets high-value areas including metabolic disease, immunology and peripheral artery disease, with a lead GLP-2R agonist for short bowel syndrome designed for once-monthly dosing and a multi-target agonist program for obesity. The company was founded in 2021 in Flagship Labs (Flagship Pioneering) and is led by CEO Angela Hwang. Following the announced investment, LOTTE Holdings’ CVC has committed to support Metaphore as a long-term partner.
