The company also markets the Ferroguard® brand of MRI safety systems to protect patients, staff and equipment in MRI suites. Metrasens is led by founder and CEO Dr Simon Goodyear and has offices in Great Malvern, UK and Lisle, Illinois, USA. The business has attracted external investment, most recently receiving a new equity investment of undisclosed size. Octopus Investments, an existing backer since 2009, and C5 Partners participated in the latest round. A prior raise of £1.5M was reported in 2010. MetraSens Ltd is a Malvern Hills, UK-based supplier of ferromagnetic detection systems designed to improve safety in hospitals. Its core products are ferromagnetic detection systems used in medical settings to identify potentially dangerous ferromagnetic objects. The company operates a US office in Lemont, Illinois to support activity in the US medical market. MetraSens raised £1.5m in financing from Octopus Ventures. The funds will enable the company to expand in the US medical market.
