Microbiotica
Chesterford Research Park, Little Chesterford, Cambridgeshire, CB10 1XL, United Kingdom
Overview
Microbiotica builds precision microbiome therapeutics and biomarkers by isolating and characterising gut bacteria and linking consortia to clinical outcomes via a proprietary Reference Genome Database, culture collection, mass-culturing technology and AI tools. Its core products are fully defined live bacterial therapeutics (LBTs) and biomarker suites derived from high-quality clinical datasets and strain-level microbiome analysis. The company’s two lead oral LBTs, MB097 (for immuno-oncology patient response) and MB310 (for ulcerative colitis remission), have preclinical validation and are being advanced to Phase 1b clinical studies. The business will use the new capital to progress these clinical programs and to expand its discovery pipeline into new disease areas. Microbiotica has established partnerships with organisations including Cancer Research UK, Cambridge University Hospitals, University of Adelaide and Genentech. The company was spun out of the Wellcome Sanger Institute in 2016 and is based at Chesterford Research Park near Cambridge, UK.
