MicThera develops microbe-derived therapies, leveraging beneficial microorganisms to create innovative oncology treatments. The company draws on research from Professor Andrea Alimonti’s group and is led by scientific founders Andrea Alimonti, Nicolò Pernigoni (cofounder and executive director) and Arianna Calcinotto. MicThera plans to accelerate identification and development of new microbe-derived products targeting oncological indications, including new approaches for prostate cancer. It maintains collaborations with the Istituto Oncologico di Ricerca (IOR) in Bellinzona to support ongoing translational research. The company is based in Lodi. An initial tranche-based investment of €1 million from Indaco Bio Fund will be used to support and accelerate product development.
