MightyTV is a New York–based discovery app launched in April 2016 by CEO Brian Adams that uses machine learning to recommend movies and TV shows based on personal preferences and friends' opinions. The app aggregates titles from services including Amazon, Netflix, Showtime, Hulu, Cinemax, HBO Go and is adding HBO Now and Crackle. It offers dual email and Facebook profile registration and a social "group mashup" feature to help friends find things to watch together without full Facebook sign-in. The company raised seed capital to further enhance its video discovery process and continue product development. In conjunction with the funding it added Michael Barrett to its board; Barrett previously led Millennial Media (sold to AOL) and served as Chief Revenue Officer at Yahoo!, and co-founded AdMeld (acquired by Google).
