miive

Tokyo, Japan

Overview

Founded in July 2020, Tokyo-based miive operates a points-based employee welfare platform that combines a Visa prepaid card with a companion mobile application. Employers can designate any Visa merchant as a benefits venue and freely configure contribution amounts, frequencies, and rules, giving the system wide flexibility compared with traditional perk programs. Since its 2022 launch the service has been adopted by more than 330 companies, including large enterprises such as Leopalace21 and Colopl, and maintains roughly 90 % monthly utilization among employees and a 99.57 % monthly customer retention rate. User research shows 88 % of surveyed users would be “very disappointed” if the product disappeared, indicating strong product-market fit. The company has been repeatedly ranked No.1 in ITreview’s welfare benefits category for six consecutive periods. With total funding now at about ¥2.48 billion, miive plans to triple headcount within a year, add a “Lite” product tier and roll out focused offerings for meal subsidies, incentives, and employee discounts beginning January 2026. The newly raised capital will be directed toward hiring, product development, and broad market education around its “welfare card” concept.
