Overview
Fosanis has developed Mika, an AI-powered, prescription digital therapeutic (DTx) platform for all oncological indications that delivers evidence-based digital interventions and personalised coaching. Mika uses daily electronic patient-reported outcomes (ePROs) to continuously track distress levels and symptoms and provides a personalised coaching programme with multimedia psychooncological interventions. The platform includes more than 800 validated articles, videos and coping-skills training modules spanning nutrition, physical exercise and mindfulness. Mika was developed in collaboration with oncological research institutions and cancer centres including the University of Leipzig Medical Center and Charité Berlin. Fosanis employs more than 40 people and intends to use the Series A proceeds to expand internationally. The company was founded in 2017. Mika builds a mobile app that acts as an interactive companion for cancer patients and their families, offering tailored information on diagnoses and treatment options. The app provides nutritional advice, relaxation exercises, motivating stories from former patients, and concrete support for everyday living with cancer. Users can document physical and mental wellbeing, complaints, and side effects in a patient diary for later discussions with treating physicians. Mika developed the product in partnership with Charité (Berlin) and University Hospital Leipzig. The company plans to use newly raised funds to conduct clinical studies and further develop its interactive digital companion app. Mika was co-founded in 2017 by Dr. Gandolf Finke and Dr. Jan Simon Raue and is based in Berlin, Germany.
