Mikuna
1221 State Street, Santa Barbara, California, 93101, United States
Overview
Mikuna was founded in 2019 by Amaury Dumont and Thomas Ferdant as a street-food concept to make Peruvian and South American cuisine accessible. The company operates a hybrid lunch-and-evening format and offers dishes such as ceviches, burritos, empanadas, tapas and cocktails. It currently runs seven points of sale: four restaurants (one franchised) and three seasonal pop-ups in collaboration with Groupe Paris Society, and has added an event catering (traiteur) offering. Mikuna recently unveiled a boho-chic rebrand with an emblematic llama developed with DesignSquad.fr and adopted the signature “Mikuna, South American Kitchen.” The business has raised more than €1 million in equity from business angels. Planned growth includes further Paris expansion, development of a concept 3.0, acceleration of the catering business, and a national roll‑out target over the next four years.
