Mindshow is a VR content-creation app that lets users step into the director’s chair, embody characters, move around props, and perform lines with voice-altering effects. The product emphasizes immersion by shrinking users to character size and altering voices to match the characters. It launched for free on the HTC Vive via Steam Early Access and the team says it is working on versions for other platforms such as Oculus Rift and PS VR. The company plans a month-long slate of new daily experiences at launch and aims to learn what makes for viral social-video content. Mindshow has secured external capital, having raised $6 million from investors including DFJ and Greycroft. The app also features contributed experiences and cameos from creators such as Justin Roiland, Reggie Watts, and Tay Zonday.
