Mine provides an online and iPhone app directory that lets users import purchases via email (Gmail or Yahoo) or enter them manually, then selectively share items with friends. The service parses order confirmations and currently supports Amazon, the Apple App Store, iTunes, Zappos and Etsy, with plans to expand supported merchants. Mine also attempts product-matching search to locate where an entered item can be purchased online. The company emphasizes user-approved, visual sharing (contrasting with Blippy’s public, credit-card–based approach) and does not share prices. The team includes founder Pierre Legrain (formerly a product marketing manager at Twitter) and cofounders Siddharth Batra and Deepak Rao. The product has some parsing errors in early testing, and the founders acknowledge the social sensitivity around publicly sharing purchases.
