Minly is an Egypt-based creator economy platform that enables fans to buy personalized video messages, shoutouts and other one-to-one experiences from regional celebrities. Founded last year by Mohamed El-Shinnawy, Tarek Hosny, Tarek ElGanainy, Ahmed Abbas and Bassel El-Toukhy, the company launched late last year and has grown to more than 50,000 users. Minly provides tools for creators to craft "authentic connections" with superfans at scale and highlights a catalogue of actors, athletes, musicians and influencers. The platform takes a small commission on transactions while the majority of the transaction price goes directly to creators, and it encourages celebrities to donate a portion of earnings to partner charities. Minly says its goal is to deliver tens of millions of unique, unforgettable experiences to fans each year and to become a multibillion-dollar, category-leading company in MENA. The company plans to invest the new funding in local celebrity acquisition teams across Egypt, MENA and the GCC and to scale its engineering team to build a horizontal creator platform.
