Overview

Mint Town develops and operates Web3 games, including co-developing and running 'Captain Tsubasa - RIVALS' with BLOCKSMITH&Co., and is building multiple Web3 titles. The company is preparing a new points-based service called 'MintTown' that lets users earn points via free games and can increase points through gameplay up to the equivalent of ¥1,000,000 in service points. MintTown is intended to be offered globally and the company says it aims to evolve the service into a Web3 game platform. As part of that platformization plan, Mint Town is considering a proprietary wallet and issuing its own token. Development is underway for a spring release. The company has secured funding from NTT Docomo Ventures and is based in Kanda Square, Chiyoda, Tokyo. Mint Town develops and operates Web3 games, including 'Captain Tsubasa -RIVALS-', and builds a Web3 game platform. The company was created via a corporate split from VR-game developer Thirdverse effective May 1, with Thirdverse retaining the VR game business and Mint Town taking responsibility for Web3 game and platform operations. Mint Town has established subsidiaries in Singapore and Dubai and announced a new management structure in May. The company completed a Series D equity financing of ¥1.0 billion, its first fundraising since the split. Proceeds will be used to strengthen hiring of game creators and to advance development of Web3 games and the platform. The Series D round was carried over from Thirdverse and consists entirely of equity issuance.
